A-Level Technician (Master Technician)

Position Summary: Harris Automotive and Tire is a tight-knit, family-owned business that’s been proudly serving Wentzville, Missouri since 1985. We work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend hours, and are off on all major holidays, so you can enjoy a healthy work-life balance.

Our mechanics are responsible for performing accurate diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide variety of vehicles. This includes but is not limited to tasks such as oil changes, digital vehicle inspections, brake services, suspension work, engine and transmission repairs, and using diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical or electrical issues. Mechanics are expected to maintain a high standard of workmanship, keep detailed records of work performed, and communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members. A strong knowledge of automotive systems, a professional attitude, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction are essential to this role.

A-Level Technicians are our most experienced and trusted professionals, capable of performing complex diagnostics and high-level repairs across all vehicle systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a strong commitment to maintaining shop standards. A-Level Technicians often take the lead on difficult repairs and help guide other technicians in diagnostics and quality control.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex issues related to engines, transmissions, electronics, and emissions systems
  • Lead diagnostic efforts on hard-to-solve problems and provide second opinions
  • Perform advanced services and module reprogramming when required
  • Assist with workflow coordination and ensure efficiency and quality across the shop
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to B-level and General Service Technicians
  • Stay up-to-date with industry technology, tools, and best practices
  • Document all work clearly and communicate effectively with the service team

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in automotive repair
  • Deep knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational habits
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Missouri state inspectors license or willingness to obtain
