B Level Service Tech

Position Summary: Harris Automotive and Tire is a tight-knit, family-owned business that’s been proudly serving Wentzville, Missouri since 1985. We work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend hours, and are off on all major holidays, so you can enjoy a healthy work-life balance.

Our mechanics are responsible for performing accurate diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide variety of vehicles. This includes but is not limited to tasks such as oil changes, digital vehicle inspections, brake services, suspension work, engine and transmission repairs, and using diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical or electrical issues. Mechanics are expected to maintain a high standard of workmanship, keep detailed records of work performed, and communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members. A strong knowledge of automotive systems, a professional attitude, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction are essential to this role.

B-Level Technicians are skilled automotive professionals responsible for performing mid-to-advanced level repairs and diagnostics. This role involves working independently on brake systems, drivability issues, suspension components, and more. B-Level Technicians are also expected to assist junior techs when needed and contribute to the overall efficiency and quality of the shop.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including brakes, suspension, steering, and minor engine work
  • Diagnose drivability and performance issues using scan tools and other diagnostic equipment
  • Conduct thorough digital inspections and communicate findings
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed and parts used
  • Work with service advisors to ensure accurate estimates and repair timelines
  • Support general service technicians and foster a team-oriented environment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
  • Missouri state inspectors license or willingness to obtain

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional automotive repair experience
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and service information systems
  • ASE certifications preferred or willingness to pursue
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
